A certificate and appointment distribution ceremony for the security guard training program was organized at the Assam Rifles Skill Development Centre, Sanjeeveeni Complex, Imphal. The program was conducted by the Homeland Institute of Security Management with support from the Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South).
The ceremony was graced by senior officials of the Assam Rifles and representatives of the Homeland Institute of Security Management and other dignitaries. A total of 50 trainees successfully completed the fully residential program. Of these, 47 trainees received certificates and appointment letters during the ceremony, while three trainees from the Kuki community secured placements in Pune, informed a press release of IGAR(S).
The training was designed to equip unemployed youth of Manipur with professional skills required in the security sector. The curriculum included physical training, security operations, fire safety, first aid and CPR, emergency response, surveillance awareness, discipline, and professional conduct. These modules prepared the trainees to meet the expectations of the industry and take up national-level assignments.
Since January 2026, the institute has trained and placed 63 security personnel across India, reflecting the growing impact of such initiatives in creating sustainable livelihood opportunities. The ceremony highlighted the importance of discipline, professionalism, and integrity in the security profession while underlining the role of skill development in empowering youth and fostering employment generation in Manipur, it said.
