The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) and the District Administration Senapati organized a sensitization program on “The Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013” at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati. Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley commended MSCW for promoting safer work environments for women, highlighting issues such as ‘nil’ reports of harassment caused by a lack of legal awareness. She pointed out that subtle forms of harassment often go unrecognized and emphasized victims’ hesitance to seek legal remedies due to societal victim-blaming. Doley encouraged offices to display vital provisions of the Act publicly and invited employees to utilize the iGOT Karmayogi platform for resources on workplace safety. Chairperson of MSCW, Th. Tiningpham Monsang, detailed MSCW’s efforts in advocating women’s rights and reported pathways for lodging harassment complaints, such as the SHe-Box portal and the National Helpline No. 181. The program also featured a technical session led by Advocate Kawizengdauliu of Senapati District Court and was attended by various local dignitaries, including government advocates and district officers, all aiming to foster a secure and respectful work atmosphere.
