The Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) organized a “Mahila Jansunwai (Women’s Public Hearing)” in collaboration with various local authorities and organizations on International Women’s Day 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall in Chandel. Key attendees included MSCW Chairperson Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang and Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar, who underscored the initiative’s aim to strengthen women’s safety, dignity, and access to justice across five districts. Monsang urged women to openly share their grievances regarding issues such as domestic violence, workplace harassment, and trafficking, emphasizing the need for institutional support and timely resolution. The event featured a dedicated session for registering complaints, with officials and legal advisors present to offer guidance and ensure follow-up assistance. The program saw significant participation from local women, legal services representatives, police, and civil society organizations, reinforcing the commitment to accessible support and justice for women in the region.
