IMPHAL: Manipur’s conflict has dragged the state back many years, according to Chief Minister Biren Singh on Thursday.

“We were seeing advancements in a number of areas, including roads, water, energy, information, education, health, and inclusivity,

However, the violence that started in May of last year has caused us to fall behind several years,” Biren stated in his Republic Day remarks.
He said, “The state government understands that rebuilding physical homes and structures is one thing, but rebuilding lives and relationships is quite another.”

Biren emphasized that the state government must remain a “neutral entity” and that it upholds the principles of justice and equality for all.

“The kind of turmoil that Manipur is currently experiencing cannot be resolved by the government taking sides.
We would stop at nothing to restore peace and normality to the State, he pledged, since we firmly believe in the values embodied in the Indian Constitution.

According to him, R-Day is more important for our kin who are spending the winter in makeshift shelters and charity camps. They must not be driven by the night’s chill.”
