Usha, a leading name in consumer durables, teamed up with the People’s Development Society and MATAM to host the Thang-Ta Gi Laallong Yendamnaba Competition 2024 in Imphal East, Manipur. Held at the Nandeiban Lelkai Community Hall, the event drew over 150 participants across various age groups, showcasing their skills in this ancient Manipuri martial art. The winners were felicitated by Chief Guest Maharaja Sanajaoba Leishemba, receiving certificates and prizes.

Thang-Ta, a traditional martial art with deep cultural significance in Manipur, saw tremendous enthusiasm among local youth. “Thang-Ta plays a crucial role in preserving Manipur’s martial heritage. We’re delighted to see its growing popularity among the youth, which highlights their dedication to tradition,” said Komal Mehra, Head of Sports Initiatives at Usha International.
