Security forces apprehended Chungkham Kiran Meitei @ Lepshinba (23), an active member of the UPPK, in the Mantripukhri area of Imphal East district, specifically under the jurisdiction of the Patsoi Police Station located in Imphal West district. In a separate operation, arms and ammunition were seized from the vicinity of Molcham village, within the jurisdiction of Molcham Police Station in Chandel district. The recovered weapons comprised one AK-47 rifle accompanied by two magazines, one 9mm CMG with its magazine, two grenade detonators, two magazines from different firearms, two grenades, 194 rounds of ammunition, and five Baofeng VHF radio sets complete with five USB chargers. Additionally, measures were implemented to facilitate the movement of 178 vehicles transporting essential goods along National Highway 37, with strict security protocols enforced in areas deemed vulnerable. Security convoys were assigned to sensitive segments of the route to guarantee the safe passage of these vehicles. Furthermore, a total of 115 checkpoints, or Nakas, were established across various districts, covering both hilly and valley regions; however, no detentions were reported during these operations.
