Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla released the second edition of the coffee table book ‘The Life of the Unsung Hero – Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing’ during a ceremony in Imphal. Before the release, he honored Maj. Khathing by laying a wreath at his memorial. The event saw attendance from notable figures including John S. R. Khathing, Major General Gaurav Sharma, and Major General Subhankar Basu, along with family members of Maj. Khathing. The ceremony also included the distribution of Maj. Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing Meritorious Awards to outstanding students of classes X and XII. In his address, Governor Bhalla stated that the book is not just a recount of Maj. Khathing’s life but also a reflection of important values like courage, integrity, and selflessness essential for nation-building. He praised Khathing’s exceptional journey as a soldier and diplomat, and urged the younger generation to draw inspiration from his qualities of discipline and humility. The Governor highlighted the significance of unity and constructive dialogue for the nation’s future, expressing hope that the book would motivate youth towards fostering a peaceful and prosperous society.
