Manipur Police arrested two active KCP (MC Progressive) cadres from Palace Gate area, under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district: They have been identified as Akhom David Singh @ Atomba (24), of Ngangkha Lawai Maning Leikai, Moirang-PS, Bishnupur district, and Potshangbam Johnson Singh @ Abungo (25), of Moirang Khuthekpi, Moirang-PS, Bishnupur district. Both were at present staying at Khumbong Khaidem Awang Leikai, Patsoi-PS, Imphal West. Two mobile phones were seized from their possession. Security forces also arrested an active PREPAK (Pro) [G-5] cadre, namely Yumnam Panchayaiphaba Meitei @ Yaikhomba (30) of Nongada Awang Leikai, under Lamlai-PS, Imphal East district from his residence. A mobile phone was seized from him.
On the other hand, security forces recovered arms and ammunition in a search operation launched at Saikul village area under Churachandpur PS, Churachandpur district. The recovered arms include one automatic rifle with empty magazine, one local-made bolt action rifle, one .22 pistol along with magazine, one local-made revolver pistol with 06 (six) rounds, three IEDs, five 7.62 mm SLR live rounds and one pair of boots. In another operation, security forces recovered three improvised mortars of Pompi, one IED, three hand-grenades and one Walkie-Talkie set with charger from the general area of Tarao Lamkhai under Tengnoupal-PS, Tengnoupal district.
