Security forces in Imphal, Manipur, conducted a series of arrests on the same day, apprehending three individuals linked to extortion and militant activities. The first arrest involved Moirangthem Jiten Singh, known as Nanao, a 46-year-old active cadre of the KCP (PWG), who was taken into custody in his locality, Kongba Laishram Leikai, where a mobile phone was seized from him. Shortly after, Thokchom Devarani Devi, a 43-year-old woman cadre of the same group, was arrested at her residence in Kongba Makha Ucheckon under Irilbung-PS, also with a mobile phone recovered. Additionally, Thoudam Jingko Singh, alias Sanathoi, a 25-year-old cadre of PREPAK, was arrested in Thoudam Wangmataba, Thoubal district, where two live rounds (7.62×39 mm), one mobile phone with a SIM card, and a Honda Activa scooter were confiscated.

In conjunction with these arrests, security measures were enhanced to facilitate the safe passage of 155 vehicles transporting essential items along NH-37. Strict security protocols were enacted at vulnerable locations, including the establishment of 114 Nakas/Check points across various districts in Manipur, covering both hilly and valley regions. Notably, despite the extensive security presence, no additional detentions occurred at these checkpoints.
