The State Government has initiated a three-day State Mourning from February 22 to 24 in honor of the late Vungzagin Valte, MLA of the 56–Thanlon Assembly Constituency, who passed away in Gurugram after a prolonged illness. An official order from the General Administration Department under the Governor’s directives stipulates that during this period, the National Flag will be flown at half-mast on government buildings. Additionally, official entertainment will be suspended. The Director General of Police, Manipur, has been instructed to grant full Police Honours at the funeral site, reflecting the state’s appreciation for Valte’s contributions to public service. The order has been disseminated to all relevant authorities, secretaries, deputy commissioners, department heads, and media agencies to ensure compliance and awareness.
