On Mizoram’s Statehood Day, the Home Minister also welcomed sisters and brothers, stating, “Mizoram is a vibrant spot on the diverse mosaic of our cultural tapestry.” They have my warmest wishes as they continue to progress and pursue their well-being.” Pema Khandu, the chief minister of Arunachal Pradesh, also acknowledged and expressed thanks for the contributions that have fueled the state’s diverse growth trajectory at this event. Known as ‘The Land of the Rising Sun,’ Arunachal Pradesh borders China, Bhutan, and Myanmar. Its strategic significance is increased by its distinct geographic position.
Its historical significance is demonstrated by the state’s transition from the North Eastern Frontier Agency (NEFA) to Union Territory in 1972 and its eventual statehood on February 20, 1987. Similar to this, Mizoram became the twenty-third state of India on February 20, 1987, moving up from Union Territory in terms of federal autonomy. As a result, Mizoram observes its statehood day on February 20 each year to mark the official recognition of Mizoram as a state.
