Ajay Kumar Bhalla, the governor of Manipur, attended the National Conference on Implications of Climate Change & Conservation of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage 2025’s opening ceremony today at Manipur University’s auditorium in Imphal. Speaking to the audience, the governor underlined that one of the most urgent issues facing the world is climate change, which affects not only natural ecosystems but also the area’s cultural legacy.
He emphasized that Manipur’s rich biodiversity, especially its flora and wildlife, has been severely impacted by the negative effects of climate change. He also emphasized that all stakeholders share responsibility for protecting these priceless resources for coming generations. He added that in order to lessen the effects of climate change, the Indian government and the state government of Manipur are collaborating and acting proactively. In order to ensure sustainable progress while preserving the environment, he emphasized the significance of combining conservation efforts with development.
The Governor of Manipur University has urged students to recognize the impact of climate change and act as conservation ambassadors. He also visited the Department of Botany and interacted with students and faculty. The National Conference on Climate Change & Conservation of Natural Resources and Cultural Heritage 2025 will focus on climate change adaptation strategies, natural resource management, and cultural heritage preservation.
