Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the launch of the 25th edition of its flagship TCS Rural IT Quiz, in partnership with the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka. This milestone edition, celebrated at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024, marks 25 years of advancing IT education among rural students, earning recognition from the Limca Book of Records as India’s pioneering IT quiz for rural areas.

The quiz, open to students from Classes 8 to 12 in smaller towns and districts (excluding city corporation areas), will feature online tests, virtual rounds, and on-ground quizzes. Participants will explore topics including AI, cloud computing, and the impact of IT on sectors such as banking, education, and entertainment.

With regional finals culminating in a national showdown in Bengaluru this November, participants stand to win gift vouchers and TCS education scholarships. The 2023 edition attracted over 5.5 lakh students across 28 states and five Union Territories.In Imphal, the quiz presents a valuable platform for local students to engage with emerging technologies and gain recognition. This initiative is expected to bolster IT education in the region, addressing the increasing need for skilled tech professionals.
