The 2nd Fit India State Level Cyclothon 2026, organized by the Sports Authority of India North East Region Center Imphal, successfully concluded with the aim of promoting a cycling culture and community participation under the Fit India Movement and Khelo India. The event began at Manipur University and culminated at the Khongjom War Memorial Complex. Distinguished guests at the prize distribution ceremony included Victoria Yengkhom, IPS, Athlete Member of the Cycling Federation of India Elangbam Bhubaneswar Singh, Dronacharya Awardee Leishangthem Ibomcha, Padmashree awardee Nameirakpam Kunjarani Devi, and several other notable figures from the sports and entertainment sectors.

During the ceremony, prizes were awarded to top cyclists across various categories, with the first prize winner receiving Rs 25,000, the second Rs 20,000, and the third Rs 15,000, along with medals and certificates. In the Men’s Open Category, Khongakpam Gunachand Meitei, Leishangthem Bishorjit Singh, and Nongmaithem Dhananjoy Singh secured first, second, and third positions respectively. Meanwhile, in the Women’s Open Category, Leishangthem Natalie Chanu took first place, followed by Naorem Deena Devi and Shorensangbam Tanu.

Additionally, in the 40+ Men’s Category, the top positions were claimed by Sanasam Chingkheinganba, Md Imtiyaz Rahaman, and Ahanthem Dara Singh, while the 40+ Women’s Category was won by Chingsubam Sanggai, Ningthoujam Nutan Devi, and Heikrujam Jibolata. To further encourage participation, ten consolation prizes were awarded in each category.

Chief Guest Victoria Yengkhom, IPS, highlighted in her speech the importance of maintaining health for a strong and resilient society, particularly emphasizing the health of the elderly. She encouraged all present to adopt healthy lifestyles as part of the Fit India initiative to contribute towards building a strong nation.
