The Indian National Congress is actively working to strengthen its grassroots connections through multiple nationwide campaigns, including the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, Bharat Jodo Yatra, Samvidhan Bachao, and MGNREGA Bachao. To further these efforts, a new organizational initiative called Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan (SSA) has been launched, aimed at consolidating and energizing the party structure.

A significant meeting took place at the Block Congress Committee office in Kakching, focusing on organizational reviews and strategies for reinforcing the party at various tiers. Key figures present included Vidyapati Senjam and Hareshwar Goswami, both Vice Presidents of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), along with other party leaders such as Md. Fajur Rahim, A. Rahman Chesaba, and various former MLAs.

Prafulla Gudadhe, the AICC Observer for Kakching DCC and Chandel DCC, emphasized the goals of SSA, which include enhancing coordination among party members, elected officials, and local civil society, while also increasing accountability and transparency. The initiative aims to identify responsible leadership at the district level and to nurture competent grassroots leaders.

Further meetings are scheduled as part of this initiative, with dates set for February 21, 22, and 24 across various Block Congress Committees, indicating a structured approach to fostering party dynamics. M.K. Noah Cholthe, General Secretary of the Chandel District Congress Committee, mentioned similar events planned for Chandel and Tengnoupal districts.

In addition, a team led by AICC Secretary Christopher Tilak engaged with local party workers in Kangpokpi district, reflecting a renewed enthusiasm. The meeting, moderated by Dr. Lamtinthang Haokip, highlighted the need for structural reforms, cadre mobilization, and strategies to enhance grassroots engagement, placing emphasis on discipline, inclusivity, and a performance-based organizational culture.

Discussions included block-level restructuring and the strengthening of the Mahila and Youth Congress wings, with observers advocating for feedback from grassroots workers on existing organizational challenges and outreach efforts. The commitment to rejuvenate the party’s structure showcases a focused initiative to reconnect with its base and envision a more robust organizational future.
