A cycle rally led by social activist Malem Thongam aims to promote peace and harmony in Manipur, having reached Pallel recently. The rally’s objective is to span all 16 districts of Manipur, following Thongam’s prior journey from Delhi. Upon arriving in Kakching market, he was received and honored by local community members. Thongam, a resident of Imphal East district, emphasizes the need for dialogue between the Meitei and Kuki communities to resolve ongoing tensions that have persisted for over two years. His initiative seeks to encourage the Government of India and local authorities to engage in meaningful discussions for a lasting solution. The rally began in Bishnupur district and plans to extend to Kashmir in a subsequent phase. Through this campaign, Thongam calls for community support in fostering peace and understanding among all groups in Manipur.
