Six members of the Arambai Tenggol group have been taken into custody by Manipur Police in relation to a violent attack on police officers that occurred during a bandh in the Bishnupur district on June 9, 2025. The targeted attack on one officer and other police officers who were on duty during the bandh prompted the arrests on July 8 as part of an ongoing investigation into the incident.
Six people, including Govindagram Awang Leikai in Imphal West, Laishram Sanahal Singh, Laishram Rishikanta Singh, Kandrang Lashram Premchand, Kangabam Nongdamba Singh, Kangmong Maisnam Leikai, Sarangthem Rabichandra, Lourembam Maning Leikai, and Yumnam Jaswant Singh, have been detained in connection with an attack on the police team during the bandh. Further investigation is underway to identify additional participants and determine the full timeline of events.
