Shija Hospitals and Research Institute Pvt. Ltd. was honored by the Department of Industries and Commerce of the Government of Tripura during the 36th Tripura Industries and Commerce Fair 2026 held on January 29 at Hapania International Fair Ground, Agartala. The award, presented by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, recognized Shija Hospitals for its significant contribution to Tripura’s economic development, particularly in fostering industrial growth, creating jobs, and boosting investor confidence in the state. The government acknowledged Shija’s enduring involvement in enhancing the investment ecosystem, aligning with the vision of inclusive and sustainable development.
On November 5, 2025, Shija Hospitals laid the foundation for a 700-bed Shija Super Specialty Hospital in R K Nagar, Agartala, which will be developed in four phases over nine years. The hospital aims to minimize medical migration and bolster regional healthcare self-sufficiency. Shija’s dedication to affordable and excellent healthcare is reinforced by its commitment to an academic ecosystem designed for compassionate care.
In addition to healthcare services, Shija Hospitals has made strides in academic collaboration and capacity building in Tripura. The hospital provided training for a kidney transplant team from AGMC, Agartala, and conducted Continuing Medical Education programs on various topics, promoting knowledge sharing among healthcare professionals. The Shija transplant team, in partnership with AGMC Agartala, successfully completed five kidney transplants in the state.
