At least Seven security forces were got injured in an attack by armed Kuki militants in the border town of Moreh in Tengnoupal district of Manipur on Tuesday morning. Four police personnel from the Manipur Police and one security official from the Border Security Forces were Airlifted and admitted to the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) for medical treatment.
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh personally visited the casualty ward at Regional Institute of Medical Science to check for the well-being of the injured security personnesl. He stated that it has been proven that Kuki terrorists are using sophisticated weapons for attack.
After visiting the injured personnel, N Biren Singh expressed his concern about the incident. He stated, Four police personnel from the state police were injured, fortunately not with serious injuries. The bullets penetrated even the bulletproof vehicles, causing injuries to the security personnel. The injured personnel were Airlifted and safely transported to Imphal International Airport before being taken to RIMS, where they arrived at 11:30 am.
