In a major crackdown, Manipur Police, in coordination with the CRPF, BSF, Army, and Assam Rifles, conducted multiple intelligence-led operations across various valley districts in the early hours of Saturday, July 26.
These simultaneous search and seizure missions were carried out in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur districts, following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of hidden arms, ammunition, and other war-like materials in suspected and peripheral areas.
The joint operations resulted in the seizure of a large cache of weapons, explosives, and communication devices, highlighting the security forces’ continued efforts to dismantle illegal armed networks and restore order in the region. Authorities have described the operation as a vital success in the ongoing battle against the proliferation of illegal arms in the conflict-prone valley.
This mission forms part of a broader, intelligence-based approach to maintain peace, avert disturbances, and protect public safety in Manipur. Police officials reaffirmed their dedication to preserving law and order and called on the public to support these efforts by reporting suspicious activity or arms-related information to local police or the Central Control Room.
