On Thursday, security forces apprehended an active cadre of the United People’s Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) in the Malom Tulihal Makha Leikai area under Nambol police station in Bishnupur district. The individual, Khoisnam Morendrajit Singh, 42, of Langjing Achouba Mamang Leikai in Imphal West district, was found in possession of a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card at the time of his arrest.
In a parallel operation, security forces also detained an individual identified as Ningthoujam Kennedy, 41, known by aliases Guli and Angousana, who was recognized as an extortionist and an active cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) (Pro). He was arrested from Khewa Bazar under Porompat police station in Imphal East district, along with a mobile phone and an Aadhaar card.
Additionally, two other individuals, both recognized as extortionists affiliated with the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF)/People’s Liberation Army (PLA), were arrested from separate locations. They are Thounaojam Prempatra Singh, 31, who was apprehended at Singjamei Chinga Makha under Singjamei police station in Imphal West district, and Tharoijam Tony Singh, 32, arrested from the Porompat area of Imphal East district. From these two individuals, law enforcement recovered significant items, including a 9 mm pistol with a magazine, four 9 mm live rounds, a Honda Activa scooter, two mobile phones, a sling bag, and two wallets.
