The National Informatics Centre (NIC), Bishnupur, organized a one-day Safer Internet Day, 2026, at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Bishnupur, supervised by the District Administration. District Informatics Officer (DIO) R.K. Romita emphasized NIC’s contributions to e-Governance and the significance of Safer Internet Day, which is observed on the second Tuesday of February as per the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology’s guidelines. This year’s theme, “Smart Tech, Safe Choices: Exploring the Safe and Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI),” was introduced to highlight important concepts. Assistant Commissioner Sh. Gunamani reiterated the aim of the event to raise awareness about safe internet practices and the responsible use of online platforms, especially significant in today’s digital era concerning students and young users. Kh. Kishore, DIO of Churachandpur, presented on internet safety and cyber awareness, and the event was attended by N. Premila, Principal of JNV Bishnupur, along with teachers and students.
