A newly constructed community hall at Kokchai Makha Leikai in the Mayang Imphal Assembly Constituency was inaugurated by local MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh, with funding from the MLA Local Area Development (MLALAD) Fund. The inauguration was attended by notable individuals including chief guest Abujam Yaima Singh and special invitee Irom Rabi Singh, alongside local leaders and residents. During the ceremony, MLA Kongkham Robindro Singh spoke about the Meitei community’s tradition of unity in organizing social, cultural, and religious events. He highlighted the importance of harmony among different communities for peaceful coexistence in Manipur, noting that historically, the region’s diverse populations have lived together under the leadership of kings with mutual respect. The MLA urged the younger generation to uphold this tradition, expressing concern over the Meitei community’s potential decline in influence if they do not remain united and progressive. He emphasized the necessity of collective vigilance and solidarity for a brighter future.
