The District Administration of Kangpokpi, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner N Shokhongam Baite MCS, conducted a Quarterly District-Level Compliance Review Meeting focused on the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety’s directives. The ADM emphasized the need for enhanced coordination among officials, the State Police Department, and Central forces for effective road safety measures, including frisking and helmet checks on the National Highway. He instructed the Public Works Department (PWD), NHIDCL, and NHAI to identify unsafe bridges and vulnerable road sections, and to prepare reports adhering to IRC standards. Additionally, the District Transport officials were tasked with providing pertinent data related to road safety incidents, while clarity was sought regarding the responsibility for zebra crossings, which was determined to be under NHIDCL’s purview. The meeting included participation from various district officials, including Lamminlal Simte, MCS, and Len Singsit, MCS, among others.
