The Department of Nursing at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital in Imphal organized a one-day training program titled “First Responder in Patient Care” at the Neuro-Intensive Care Unit. The event was attended by notable figures including Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, as Chief Guest, with additional presence from Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, Medical Superintendent, and Prof. L. Rajesh Singh, Dean (Academics), among others. Prof. Sharma praised the initiative, emphasizing the critical role of nurses as primary first responders and the importance of continuous education and active participation in professional development.

The training included expert lectures on professional ethics, emergency management, and communication skills, highlighting nursing’s essential functions in patient care. A panel discussion on report writing provided practical advice from senior nursing officials. The program concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants and resource persons, reinforcing the commitment to enhance clinical competence and quality patient care standards among nursing staff at RIMS Hospital.
