The National Conference on MedEngage: Uniting Clinicians and Engineers for Biomedical Innovation (MedEngage: UCEBI-2026) took place at Banting Hall, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, over two days on February 18 and 19. This conference aims to foster collaboration between clinicians and engineers to promote innovation in biomedical research and healthcare technology. The opening ceremony featured notable attendees, including Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma from RIMS, who emphasized the importance of this annual platform in tackling issues like infectious diseases, non-communicable diseases (NCDs), trauma, and rural health through affordable, AI-driven solutions and student partnership. Prof. D.V.L.N. Somayajulu from NIT Manipur noted that the conference, sponsored by the ANRF, aligns with national healthcare initiatives, supported by substantial funding aimed at enhancing clinician-engineer synergy in AI-based biomedical innovation. The event attracted a diverse audience of clinicians, engineers, researchers, academicians, and students, highlighting a shared commitment to advancing the field of biomedical innovation.
