In a notable operation, the Manipur Police successfully rescued four individuals who were confined in a rented accommodation with intentions of recruiting them into a banned militant organization. This achievement was made possible after the police apprehended an active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (MFL), identified as Phamdom Dinesh Singh, alias Wangba or Thembung, aged 37, in Imphal West district. The arrest occurred in his local area under the jurisdiction of the Patsol police station. Reports indicate that Singh was involved in efforts to recruit young people into the militant outfit.

During the rescue operation, the four individuals held captive in Langjing were freed. Additionally, authorities seized a mobile phone and an unregistered Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle from the suspect. The recruitment attempts by the organization are alarming, reflecting the risks posed by militant groups that target vulnerable youth in the region, suggesting a strategic effort to expand their membership.

For security reasons, the identities of those rescued have not been disclosed. Concurrently, security forces are actively engaging in search operations and area domination in potentially vulnerable districts, maintaining a focus on intelligence-driven combing, cordon, and search missions aimed at apprehending individuals involved in extortion and various criminal activities within the state.
