Manipur Police have apprehended Sahid Shah, a 35-year-old Warder at Manipur Central Jail in Sajiwa, for unlawfully facilitating the unauthorized use of mobile phones by inmates, including individuals incarcerated under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAP). The police seized multiple mobile phones and SIM cards during the operation. The preliminary investigation revealed that financial transactions had been conducted within the jail through the UPI account of the arrested Warder. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover the full extent of his involvement and identify other individuals associated with the case registered at Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.
