A three-day District Level Training for Census 2027 focused on House Listing and Housing Census (HLO) commenced in Senapati District at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall. Organized collaboratively by the Directorate of Census Operations, Manipur, and the District Administration of Senapati, the training is under the supervision of Mamoni Doley, the Principal Census Officer (PCO) of Senapati. During her address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of this training and noted that the 16th census was initially scheduled for 2021 but was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. She urged participants to fully engage with the training offered by expert trainers and to foster collaboration between Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) and their teams for the successful execution of Census 2027.
The training sessions are conducted by Joseph Lanah, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Census Operations (DCO), Manipur, and Yeveinai Kh, Statistical Investigator Gr. II of the DCO. The curriculum encompasses various topics, including an Introduction to Census 2027, the Role of Census Functionaries, Legal Provisions, Fund Management, Manpower Management, Publicity Activities, and foundational concepts and procedures used in the census. Participants also receive hands-on training in the Census Management and Monitoring System, which includes user registration and the features of various modules.
Notable attendees included PP Ronald, the Additional District Magistrate and District Census Officer for Senapati, Nydia Nengneichong Mate, the District Statistical Officer and Additional Deputy Census Officer, along with several Sub-Divisional Officers and their staff members. This initiative aims to equip local officials with the necessary knowledge and skills for efficiently conducting the upcoming census.
