The Manipur State Unit of the National People’s Party (NPP) convened a consultative meeting-cum-induction programme at Classic Grande, Chingmeirong, focusing on the need for unity among the people of Manipur. MLA Janghemlung Panmei emphasized rejecting divisive attempts based on hill and valley distinctions, insisting that all communities are equally Manipuris. He asserted that religion should remain a personal matter and not incite divisions, and called for fostering unity and respect among diverse communities despite existing differences.
During the event, 201 individuals from various districts joined the NPP. NPP National Vice President Irengbam Hemochandra Singh addressed rising racism incidents against Northeast Indians and stressed the importance of solidarity to confront such issues. He reaffirmed the NPP’s commitment to building a united Manipur while honoring the unique traditions of its communities and advocating for regional welfare and rights.
In response to media inquiries about upcoming elections, NPP leaders underscored their dedication to prioritizing the interests of the populace and their objectives for positive change and development in the state.
