The District Administration of Pherzawl has intensified its efforts to protect children by organizing a Special Adoption Awareness Campaign and an Awareness Program focused on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, 2012. This initiative took place at Parbung village and the DC Office Complex, in collaboration with various local organizations including the District Social Welfare Office, the District Child Protection Officer, Village Authority Members, and Youth Clubs. Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching emphasized the significance of preventive awareness and the need for prompt reporting of child offenses. She highlighted the POCSO Act, which safeguards minors under 18 from sexual assault, harassment, exploitation, and cyber threats. Moreover, she called on the community to remain alert against dangers like child marriage and child labor. The deputy commissioner advocated for collective responsibility among parents, community leaders, and citizens to understand legal protections and work towards a secure environment for children. The event concluded with attendees pledging to uphold child rights and enhance community commitment to child safety and protection.
