A day after being sworn in as Chief Minister of Manipur, Yumnam Khemchand Singh visited Shri Govindaji Temple to pray for the welfare of the state. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to seek divine guidance during a crucial time focused on peace, unity, and development. Through social media, he articulated his prayers for Manipur, aspiring for its evolution into a ‘vikshit bharat’ and ‘vikshit Manipur’—narratives underscored by equality, dignity, empathy, mutual respect, and understanding among diverse communities. Following his oath-taking, Singh spoke with reporters at Lok Bhavan, emphasizing his commitment to fulfilling the trust placed in him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He acknowledged the rich tapestry of 36 communities that make up Manipur and expressed a collective hope for collaboration in fostering peaceful coexistence within the state.
