The National Stock Exchange (NSE) successfully inaugurated the first listing on the NSE Social Stock Exchange (SSE). The event, graced by Shri. Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD & CEO of NSE, unfolded with a strategic focus on reshaping philanthropy into a robust sector for impact investing.
Key stakeholders, including Dr. R Balasubramaniam, Chairman of the Advisory Committee for Social Stock Exchange at SEBI, and Shri Ramesh Swami, Founder Director of Unnati, convened during this unveiling. The SSE listing introduces a meticulously structured framework, aligning philanthropy with financial market principles. Mandatory disclosures, detailing fund-raising purposes and timelines, coupled with annual impact reports audited by social audit firms, enhance transparency and credibility.
As the SSE pioneers a path for 38 registered Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs) to follow suit, Ashish Chauhan highlighted the unique impact investing approach of Social Security Enterprises (SSEs). This model facilitates seamless collaboration between philanthropists, investors, and NPOs, promoting transparency, trust, efficiency, and cost savings.
