Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) launched the book titled “Artificial Intelligence Enabled Real Time Environmental Monitoring,” authored by Vice Chancellor Prof. W. Chandbabu Singh, Registrar Dr. R. K. Joteen Singh, and Finance Officer Rojendrakar Nongthomba. The event, held on the DMU campus at 2:30 PM, was attended by faculty, students, and environmental experts. The Head of Department, Koijam Manibusan Singh, presented key highlights of the book. Published by Springer, it will be available in hardcover from January 3, 2026, and spans 281 pages, edited by Dr. Binota Thokchom, Dr. Rishemjit Kaur, Dr. Pardeep Singh, and Dr. Pengpeng Qiu.
The book delves into the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in environmental management, addressing applications such as air and water quality monitoring, waste management, disaster response, sustainable agriculture, urban planning, smart cities, and climate change forecasting. It discusses the opportunities, challenges, and ethical considerations involved, targeting researchers, academics, environmentalists, climate scientists, industrialists, policymakers, and students. Prof. Singh highlighted the book’s importance for tackling environmental challenges in Manipur, particularly in biodiversity conservation and climate resilience, stating that it aligns with global sustainability efforts and positions Manipur as a contributor to environmental technology advancements in Northeast India. The book will be accessible in hardcover and eBook formats on Amazon India.
