The Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal has inaugurated a new gym facility at the Gymkhana, aimed at promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthier lifestyles for its students, faculty, and staff. The event was led by Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, alongside notable attendees such as Prof. N. Sanjib Singh and Prof. L. Rajesh Singh. Equipped with modern fitness equipment, the gym is one of the largest in a government institute, featuring a dedicated floor for yoga and wellness activities. Prof. Sharma highlighted the initiative’s importance for health and well-being and acknowledged the challenges faced in establishing the gym. Now operational, the facility includes badminton courts, cardio sections, and yoga spaces, with plans to hire trained instructors. The inauguration underscores RIMS’s commitment to enhancing campus infrastructure and fostering holistic development for its community, ultimately serving as a key resource for long-term health and wellness.
