National Science Day in Manipur was celebrated with dynamic programs that engaged hundreds of students and promoted scientific temper, creativity, and innovation. Organized by the Assam Rifles, events took place in Tengnoupal, Ukhrul, and Thoubal Districts, turning schools into lively centers of learning. In Tengnoupal District, interactive programs at multiple schools, including Mount Moreh School and B. Bongjang Primary School, attracted between 120 to 190 students and teachers. These discussions focused on science’s contributions to national development, healthcare, and environmental sustainability, fostering analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. A quiz competition held at Netaji School featured enthusiastic participation, with winners awarded prizes.
At Assam Rifles Public School in Ukhrul District, a drawing competition honoring Sir C.V. Raman allowed forty students to creatively express scientific concepts, emphasizing science’s relevance in daily life. The event encouraged originality, showcasing the pivotal role of science and technology in the Nation’s future. In Thoubal District, Langathel High School hosted celebrations with a science competition featuring extempore speeches on global warming, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy. Students displayed innovative projects and practical models, with 67 participants demonstrating significant scientific creativity and aptitude.
Overall, the initiatives collectively engaged approximately 230 to 300 students, igniting curiosity and innovation in these diverse communities across Manipur.
