A 24×7 Women’s Helpline (toll-free number 181) was also mentioned as a resource for support.
In her keynote address, Member Secretary Waikhom Phajatombi highlighted the Act’s objectives of safeguarding women’s dignity and establishing a complaint system that empowers committees to ensure safety at work. She noted that the MSCW has conducted similar programs across all districts in Manipur to enhance understanding and implementation of the law.
Advocate Thiyam Rajkishore, the resource person, expounded on the complaint procedures, stating that complaints must be filed within three months of the incident. He reinforced the importance of a fair and confidential inquiry process mandated by the Act, allowing both parties a chance to present their cases.
