As part of the Central Government’s efforts for bringing development in different regions of the state, Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries, Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma today visited Noney District as a popular government was recently formed in Manipur and a little normalcy and stabilisation arriving in the state.
The MoS chopper landed at the Longmai Common Ground around 10 am today morning. Deputy Commissioner Noney Vidyamari Sridhar, IAS and Noney SP Namsadai Peter along with the other District Administration officials accorded the MoS a warm reception.
After the formal function was over, Union Minister Srinivasa Varma visited the Longmai Primary Health Centre and distributed Ayushman Cards (PMJAY) to four beneficiaries of the district and also handed over keys to PMAY G-beneficiaries at Rangkhung region.
He also paid a visit to the Railway tallest pier bridge (Br 164) located in Noney district. He also took into account the progress of some of the developmental projects of the district by visiting other sites like NHIDCL project on NH-37 and Awangkhul Railway Station Works.
After the site visits, Union Minister Srinivasa chaired a review meeting at Noney DC office with the District Level Officers (DLOs) from all the line departments of Noney including the Railways and NHIDCL officials on the implementation of Central Sector Schemes in the district. He also discussed other important agenda concerning the district.
Drawing the attention of the Minister, various DLOs of Noney district highlighted the achievements of their Departments in recent years through power point presentation and also addressed their grievances by seeking support from the Central Ministry during the meeting. They appealed to the Minister by focussing on areas that needs further improvement in the district and the lagging factors and hindrances that impede the development.
MoS Srinivasa Varma also planted trees at the Noney DC office complex during his maiden visit apart from visiting stalls of various departments viz. Forest, Agriculture, RD& PR, Horticulture etc. displayed at the office.
