A new packaged drinking water facility named Pristine H2O was officially inaugurated today at Sneha Cottage, near the Northern Gate of Manipur University in Imphal West. The ceremony began at 9:00 AM and was attended by several notable figures and community leaders. Heirok MLA and former Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam Singh was present as the Chief Guest, while Laishram Mema Devi, Convenor of the Khwairambam Ima Keithel Joint Coordinating Committee for Peace, attended as Guest of Honour. The event was presided over by retired NHPC Loktak Project Chief Engineer Maibam Lalmani Singh.
MLA Radheshyam stressed the need for clean drinking water and applauded the initiative, noting that unsafe water is behind a majority of health problems. Mema Devi highlighted the urgent need for safe drinking water, particularly in relief camps where displaced families, women, and children are most affected. Lalmani Singh praised the youth-driven project and urged the community to support such ventures, which also generate employment. The plant aims to supply water to relief camps and underserved areas.
