BJP MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh announced that Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh’s cabinet expansion is anticipated following the upcoming budget session of the state Assembly. Khemchand Singh assumed office on February 4 after the end of President’s rule, accompanied by BJP MLA Nemcha Kipgen and Naga People’s Front legislator L. Dikho as deputy chief ministers, alongside other ministerial appointments. Robindro mentioned that while an expansion is certain, it will be postponed until the budget session, which starts after the Holi festival. In response to inquiries regarding the demand for separate administration by Kuki-Zo civil organizations, Minister Govindas Konthoujam remarked on the democratic right to demand various requests, reinforcing that India is a democratic nation where such expressions are permissible.
