Police stated on Saturday that eight terrorists connected to different outlawed groups had been captured by security personnel in three districts of Manipur.

An active member of the banned organization PREPAK (VC-Red Army) was taken into custody on Friday in the Maharabi neighborhood of the Imphal West district, according to officials. Two members of the banned SOREPA were arrested in a different operation from the Umathel region in the Kakching district.

Further, police arrested three active operatives of KCP (PWG), a banned militant outfit, from different locations within Imphal West district on Thursday. The crackdown continued into Friday, with two more individuals belonging to the proscribed KCP (Taibanganba) faction being taken into custody. One was arrested from Phumlou Mamang Leikai in Imphal West, while the other was apprehended at Keibi Khullen village in Imphal East district.

A senior police official stated that all the arrests were made as part of ongoing efforts to curb militant activity in the state. Security forces have been intensifying operations in known militant strongholds to ensure public safety and maintain law and order in the region.
