Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho announced that the budget session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly is expected to take place in the second week of March. After a four-day visit to New Delhi, where he met with several prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Dikho expressed that the discussions were positive, noting that Modi was pleased to meet the delegation. Responding to questions from the media, he confirmed the likelihood of the budget session occurring as planned.
Dikho, alongside Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh and Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, participated in strategic meetings in New Delhi ahead of a forthcoming cabinet expansion. Although the exact details regarding the cabinet expansion remain uncertain, discussions focused on the new state government’s efforts to foster peace and harmony in Manipur, with the Chief Minister emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment across both hilly and valley regions.
In a related matter, BJP MLA T Robindro condemned a racially charged incident that targeted three women from Arunachal Pradesh in New Delhi, affirming that appropriate actions are being pursued by authorities to address the issue.
