Medanta – The Medicity, a six-time Newsweek Best Private Hospital in India, announced that its recently launched breast cancer awareness film, Banno Ki Rasm, has crossed 8 million views across social media platforms. Part of the hospital’s “Jaanta Hai Medanta” initiative, the 2-minute 28-second video encourages women to adopt self-breast exams as a monthly practice, framing it as a tradition of strength, self-care, and empowerment passed across generations.
Dr. Naresh Trehan, Chairman & Managing Director of Medanta, said, “Women are the backbone of a progressive society, and through this campaign, we reaffirm our commitment to their health while breaking societal stigma around breast cancer.” Dr. Kanchan Kaur, Senior Director of Breast Cancer, emphasized that regular self-checks and early screenings significantly improve treatment outcomes and survival rates. Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent cancers among women, claiming an estimated 6.7 lakh lives globally in 2022, with India among the worst-affected countries.
The awareness campaign has led to increased engagement in the local healthcare market. Diagnostic centers, pharmacies, and wellness outlets reported higher inquiries for preventive screenings and check-up packages, reflecting growing public consciousness and demand for women’s health services in the region.
