In a significant drug bust, Manipur Police apprehended Md. Sabir Ahmed (46) from Lilong Nungei, Thoubal district, recovering 15.556 kg of brown sugar and a TATA truck in the North AOC area under Imphal-PS, Imphal West district. Additionally, security forces arrested two individuals, Md. Mustaque Ahmed (28) and Raj Khan (28), in New Checkon, Tribal Market under Porompat-PS, Imphal East district, seizing 15 soap cases of heroin (Heroin No. 4) weighing approximately 417 grams along with a Honda Dio DLX two-wheeler. Furthermore, two residents of Andro, Yumkhaibam Jenish Singh (22) and Puthem Nanao Singh (19), were arrested in the Sugnu bazar area under Sugnu-PS, Kakching district with 500 litres of DIC liquor and a four-wheeler (A-Star, registration number MN-01W-9278). This operation highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to combat drug and alcohol abuse in the region.
