Reports have emerged of educational institutions in Manipur overcharging students for Class 10 examination form fill-ups, breaching the fee structure mandated by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BOSEM). This practice has raised concerns from the Manipur Semgat Sagatpa Lup (MASSAL), which has cautioned schools to cease such activities immediately, highlighting the financial difficulties faced by families due to the ongoing crisis in the region. Chandam Mongyamba, the convenor of the MASSAL Student Wing, criticized the commercialization of education through overpriced sales of books, notebooks, and uniforms, urging schools to stop these practices starting in the 2026 academic session. Furthermore, the student wing warned examination officials against condoning unfair practices during exams and committed to monitoring the situation closely to protect the interests of students and parents.
