In the early hours of July 15, security forces conducted a major crackdown across Manipur’s valley districts, seizing a substantial cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives in a significant step toward restoring peace. Acting on precise intelligence, joint teams from Manipur Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and the Army/Assam Rifles carried out coordinated raids in Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Kakching, and Bishnupur.

They recovered 86 weapons, including AK-series rifles, INSAS, SLRs, pistols, carbines, and a two-inch mortar, along with 974 rounds of live ammunition in various calibers. The haul also included grenades, mortar shells, tube launchers, improvised explosive devices, magazines, and wireless handsets.

Manipur Police hailed this as a major success in their ongoing efforts to dismantle illegal arms networks and strengthen law and order. Authorities urged citizens to report suspicious activities, while senior officials emphasized continued coordination to maintain security and protect lives and property across the state.
