In a determined effort to uphold law and order in Manipur, the state police have detained 62 individuals in a recent crackdown spanning various districts. The intensified enforcement aims to ensure security across both hill and valley regions of the state. A strategic deployment of 120 Nakas/Checkpoints has been established across Manipur’s diverse terrain, strategically positioned to cover areas prone to security breaches.

Search operations and area dominance initiatives, led by security forces, have been extensively conducted, focusing on peripheral and vulnerable zones within hill and valley districts. These concerted efforts have led to significant outcomes, with authorities uncovering a cache of illicit weapons. A significant seizure occurred on May 18, 2024, along the IT road in Kangpokpi district. Security personnel confiscated a 9mm Carbine Machine Gun, along with a magazine, as well as a 9mm Pistol and a .22 Pistol, each accompanied by a magazine.

Additionally, seven live rounds of ammunition were recovered during the operation.Concurrently, attention has been dedicated to monitoring the movement of essential goods along vital transportation routes. Security forces have facilitated the transit of 103 vehicles along NH-37 and 243 vehicles along NH-2, ensuring the uninterrupted flow of crucial commodities.
