A joint team comprising the Kakching district police and the 37 Assam Rifles seized a substantial cache of explosives and arms in Moltingcham village, Thoubal district, on Sunday.The operation, meticulously planned and executed to curb illegal activities and enhance regional safety, was a major success. Official reports indicate that the combing operation was led by Officer-in-Charge S. Birla of the Kakching Commando Unit, under the strict supervision of Superintendent of Police Thokchom Vikramjit and directed by Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations) Binoi Chongtham.

The team initiated the operation early in the morning around 7 AM. Their thorough search efforts yielded a significant haul of illegal explosives and related items, including four .36 hand grenades, two country-made explosive pipe launchers, several 12-bore cartridges, five 2-inch mortar smoke shells, two helmets, a Baofeng radio handset, three bulletproof vests, and a leg anklet.This successful seizure underscores the ongoing efforts of local law enforcement and military units to combat illegal arms and enhance security in the region.
