A combined operation involving security forces and the forest department led to the destruction of 80 acres of illegal poppy plantation at Sihai hill range in Ukhrul district, where ten huts were also burned down. Additionally, another joint team, including an Executive Magistrate, destroyed 3 acres of illegal poppy cultivation at Lakhamai hills in Senapati district, along with three huts. Separately, security forces apprehended Md. Abbas Ahamed (42) at Lilong Alia Lamkhai in Thoubal district, seizing 1.543 kg of brown sugar and a four-wheeler with registration number UP-32DS-2851 from his possession.
