The Luangchum Kamsuan Clan celebrated its first get-together at Luangchum Village, Noney district today, under the theme “Know Thy Root”. The event brought together clan members from across Manipur and Nagaland. The event began with the hoisting of the Clan Flag by Pou Norbert Disinang Kamson IAS (Retd). While Rev. Fr. Tinglung Francis Kamson SDB, Chaplain of the “Family of Faith” invoked blessings over the congregation and the clan flag, Pou Kadi Anthony Kamsuan, President of Luangchum Kamsuan Clan, welcomed the attendees and set the tone for the celebration. Speakers included Pou Gaihomlung Kamsuan, the Pakhanglak of Luangchum, who spoke on “Kamsuan Clan and Totem”, Pou Sagongam Kamsuan, the Vice-president of the Clan, on “The Clan’s History and Statistics”, Pou Nobert Disinang Kamson IAS (Retd) on “Know Thy Root”, Pou Lunghiamnang Joseph on “Relationship between Siblings” and Kaipui Lukinliu Kamsuan on “Role of Clan Housewife”.
Notable attendees included Pou Kabilan, the oldest of Kamsuan Clan of Luangchum Origin, Pou Poupangai Kamei, the Khunbu, Pou Guikhamlak Kamei, the Attorney Chairman, Pou Thudunnang Gonmei, President of Gonmei Clan, and Pou Merachao Kamson (Sangaiprou). Exhortations were offered by Dr. Stephen Kamsuan IRHS, Pou Joseph Pauline Kamsuan IAS, Pou Kenan Kamsuan (Longmai), Pouhuamlung Kamson (Sangaiprou). The programme featured a minute’s silence for departed clan members, souvenir release, choreography, songs, felicitation, and prayer sessions. The event provided opportunity to share nostalgia, rediscovery of genealogy, introspection, promote unity and strengthen clan bonds.
